It's been awhile, I know,,so here are some mash ups I've currently been downloading or adding to my shares. They're great fun,,,this is a 1st of a few I'd like post. Here is the wikipedia definition of "Mash Ups", with a little more added info, of course,,,
Mashup, or bootleg, is a musical genre which, in its purest form, consists of the combination of the music from one song with the a cappella from another. Typically, the music and vocals belong to completely different genres. At their best, bastard pop songs strive for musical epiphanies that add up to considerably more than the sum of their parts.
Synonyms
Mashups are known by a number of different names, including:
* Bootlegs (mostly in Europe)
* Boots (but not Booty which is a branch of Electro)
* Mash-ups
* Smashups (or Smash-Ups)
* Bastard pop
* Blends
* Cutups (or Cut-ups)
* Powermixing (Usually the pace has to be sped up to allow for more song to be played and thus cannot play any single blend for the full length of the song)
In addition, more traditional terms such as "edits" or (unauthorized) "remixes" are favored by many "bootleggers" (also known as 'leggers).
History
Though the term "bastard pop" first became popular in 2001, the practice of assembling new songs from purloined elements of other tracks stretches back at least to the 1950s, and, if one extends the definition beyond the realm of pop, precursors can be found in Musique concrète, as well as the classical practice of (re-)arranging traditional folk material and the jazz tradition of reinterpreting standards. In addition, many elements of bastard pop culture have antecedents in hip hop and the DIY ethic of punk.
The 1999 Eminem album The Slim Shady LP with acapella vocals from the track "My Name Is" combined with the music of many other artists, including "Back in Black" by AC/DC, "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice, and "This Charming Man" by The Smiths served as an early inspiration for the British bastard pop movement.
In the mid-1990s, bastard pop was not yet a distinct genre, but formed a significant portion of the output of a few North American experimental artists such as John Oswald, Negativland, the Evolution Control Committee, and the Emergency Broadcast Network. At that time the tracks, when they were referred to at all, were often just considered "remixes", though some other terms were used, such as tape manipulations, cut-ups, and mashups.
Soooooooooooo...I've cheated and used the copy and paste method,,,sorry :)

Primate^King
primate^king
by SftnPnk
After seeing numerous people comment on how wonderful primate^king’s remixes are, and knowing this to be true myself, I felt him worthy for some much needed and positive recognition. Primate^king, a.k.a. Brian Ball is a fellow soulseeker, one I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for around a year. Brian is 23years old, originally from Madison Wisconsin, now residing in Oakland California. He’s been very unselfish in freely putting his music out there for us to enjoy. His music remixes are very diverse, including, hip hop, pop and alternative and ambient/chill. The beats are totally fresh and surprising, for the most part. We all do a little mixing, from time to time, but primate^king has made this a priority and has excelled boundlessly in his endeavors, to the point of being a little above the norm.
primate king - dancing in the shadows cd5 2006
The cd’s I’d like to give mention to at this time are his 2006 ones, _primate_king_-_dancing_in_the_shadows_cd5''_2006 and _primate_king_vs._dj_shadow_-_outside_the_beats,_freaks_&_organs_2006, both expertly mixed. The energy is amazing, not to mention his taste in artists! I think primate^king is extremely thorough in putting out his finished product, all tidied up with cd covers, track listings and informational files.
primate king vs. dj shadow - outside the beats,freaks & organs 2006
Some other cd’s to give note to are, 2005 - _primate king - the matt.tress mix_2005, primate king - common vs. killah priest 10.6_2005 and primate king - everlasting sand castles, all of which you can obtain from me or primate^king himself, as he gives downloading priority to his efforts.
So give a listen, you’ll truly enjoy anything/all of what he’s got, no doubt!
